9 Ways to Switch to LED Lighting

LED lamps are the newest technology in eco-friendly lighting. They are more efficient than the newly popular CFLs, or compact-florescent lights.

…but just how efficient are LED lamps? Well, on average they will still have at least 50% of their light for 15,000 to 30,000 hours. That’s over 7 years with 12-hour/day usage!

Unfortunately LED lamps haven’t gone mainstream, and they’re still few-and-far-between.

This one is the full-sized version of the mini-z LED lamp. It features 66 LEDs versus the mini-z’s 40. This gives it 66 lumens.

Both the Z-Bar and the mini-z feature fully adjustable and posable arms.

Dekcell CPA-1021 USB 4-LED Lamp

This unique LED lamp runs off your computer’s USB ports, so when you’re not there and your computer’s off, so is the lamp. Great way to save electricity.

Clear 38 LED Bulb

This bulb features a medium screw base, and will fit in normal fixtures of the same size.

It features 38 super-white LED bulbs, each of these LEDs are rated 1.4 watts and can last up to 100,000 hours, as long as the Icelight’s 22-year rating.

150 LED Bulb

This is the ultimate in LED bulbs. It features more than twice the LED count of the all the lamps listed above.

It is a normal 110v bulb, and is only 3.5L x 4W x 4H inches.

It’s a bit expensive, and it might be a bit brighter than you would normally need, but it’s great to see LEDs used in more demanding circumstances in addition to the traditional desk lamps listed above.

30 LED 1.9w E26 Bulb

If you’re looking for a more traditional bulb, and don’t need 150 LEDs, you can get this 110v, 30LED bulb.

It will fit standard lamps, and provides 30 LEDs, about the same as a 60 watt lightbulb. If you’re looking for a bunch of bulb to replace your incandescent or CFL bulbs, this is the one.
